I am a self taught artist, although I have dabbled in art since before I was at school. (a very long time ago) My art, I would describe as abstract and personal. My main mediums I use are acrylic and ink. 

Having long and varied careers allows me to tap into a plethora of experiences and memories, both bad and good. Until the pandemic started I very rarely showed anyone my work. 

However, since retiring from social work 2 years ago, I have found it easier to accept honest criticism of my painting. I now find it refreshing and a challenge to myself to do better on every piece. 

I also believe I am my own worst critic, sometimes painting over original works I haven’t liked. 

My emotional involvement with art is one that keeps me coming back time and again to try and create something new and vibrant. 

At 70, I believe I have enjoyed art and artist’s work from all over the world. I enjoy all types of art and I want to continue to learn and challenge myself to create better paintings.
