MAIN GALLERY EXHIBITION

An exhibition of new work including hand and machine embroidery and mixed media, showing the diverse approaches of eight artists. Some of the work is richly coloured and stitched; some more sombre and conceptual. Techniques include drawing, painting, printing and collage with hand and machine embroidery. The artists meet once a month at the Oxford Textile Workshop, where they work together and exchange ideas. more

SATURDAY MEET THE ARTIST SESSIONS

VESEY ROOM EXHIBITION
2 March - 25 April 2015
Throughout March and April local printmaker and WOA member, Esther Hepworth, is exhibiting at the Robert Vesey Room.
As well as colourful screen prints and collagraphs, expect to see artwork inspired by Esther's connection to Bampton, the Morris dancers and Downton Abbey.
SOCK KNITTING WORKSHOP
Fee: £25 (WOA members £20) Booking Essential

An introduction to the highly addictive and rewarding art of sock knitting for knitters who are already fairly confident. We will work on a miniature sock and tackle all the essential skills: knitting in the round, creating an extra stretchy rib, turning the heel, and grafting the toe using Kitchener stitch. Needles, yarn and pattern are provided for the workshop and you can buy the needles at cost price so you can get started on your first pair of full-size socks as soon as you get home! more
MARTIN BEEK: PLEIN AIR WORKSHOP

No experience is necessary for Martin Beek's plein air workshop in Bampton. Martin will look at various aspects including composition, colour choices, note-taking outside and keeping an active sketchbook. Click for more details
West Ox Arts Gallery is a bright and inspiring venue showcasing the work of contemporary artists, designers, and craftmakers. Our aim is to provide a stimulating experience in the visual arts. We are situated on the first floor of the Grade II listed Town Hall in Bampton, Oxfordshire; a picturesque Cotswold town that is famous as the fictitious Downton Village, about five miles from Witney.
