KATHY PHILSON
I received my Fine Art Degree (Hons) from DeMontford University in 2013 following a two-year Foundation Course at Banbury Art College. I have exhibited in Oxfordshire and am a member of OAS and WOA. Having experimented widely with various media, I now concentrate on my first love which is drawing and painting. I often occupy a space between the two disciplines, using graphite and oil together, which hopefully makes my work quite individual. The themes which have occupied most of my work until now are memory and identity. I attempt to create images which reflect the illusive, often fragmented, nature of both these inter-related concepts. I also like to paint narratives and enjoy the opportunity of adding ambiguity to mood and atmospheres. Finally, I love drawing and painting Still Lifes, sometimes realistically and sometimes quite whimsically.
