As an artist, I have been working in oils, acrylics and pastels to produce landscapes, and portraits of people and animals, ever since freelancing in Mallorca in the 80’s, where I was commissioned by high category hotels, international companies and private clients, and the amusement park Marineland.
I am originally from Santiago, Chile, where I studied in Visual Arts from the School Experimental of Arts, and the school of arts at the Catholic University of Santiago of Chile. Painting portraits and people in urban and rural environments has always fascinated me from when I was very young, and I was even shortlisted for the international painting exhibition of Gallerias Preciados’s competition in Spain. While living in the UK, I have produced illustrations, murals and drawing classes with UNICEF and local schools. With Adult Learning, I also ran painting courses for many years. Recently, I have experienced working with vulnerable adults and elderly people. Helping to achieve something relaxing as an art activity for them was very rewarding indeed. My work is created mainly around my passions of portraits and landscapes. Inspired by Baroque and Impressionism, I love to use oils to portray form, light and colour in a classical style.
