‘A New Epoch’
An exhibition at Kelmscott Manor
in partnership with West Ox Arts
6th-29th October 2022
Kelmscott Manor is pleased to announce an exciting new exhibition in collaboration with our community partner West Ox Arts.
As community partners, 16 members of West Ox Arts Gallery have been invited to produce a collection of work inspired by the re-opening of Kelmscott Manor following its repair, conservation and reinterpretation supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and many other trusts, foundations and benefactors.
Following a visit to Kelmscott to explore the Manor, grounds and museum collection; the artists returned to spend an inspiring day with established printmaker Susie Hetherington. Susie demonstrated the art of linocut printing, which the artists and makers then went on to explore and develop in their own style, resulting in a wide range of imaginative responses.
The elements created by each artist have been assembled by Susie to create one piece of work to headline the upcoming exhibition. In addition to this, the artists have also each created an individual piece of work in their own preferred medium.
The exhibition will be held at Kelmscott Manor and will run from the 6th -29th October – open to the public Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays 11am-4pm.
Admission to the exhibition is included with the purchase of a ticket to the house.
