Lily Mae Studios

A picky occasional jewellery wearer who discovered the magic of silver clay and was hooked.  At first I made a few pieces for myself and then for friends and family as gifts.  In the midst of the pandemic, I decided to take the plunge and do something I’d always wanted to do; run my own business.  I set up my first online shop with Etsy and Pinch of Silver Design was born.  Selling online, and in person when the restrictions were lifted, I had a very successful but mad first Christmas.  Making lots of mistakes and learning all the time; both business wise and creatively. 
I then embarked on the PMC certificate courses with Helen Drye and Julie Holt and spent a year improving my skills with silver clay and challenging my creativity.  A move to the UK was afoot and with it a name change in honour of my grandmothers with a nod to my increasing obsession with reproducing nature in silver. Lily Mae Studios was born. 
Working out of a small studio in Oxfordshire I have started to use some traditional silversmithing methods in addition to my silver clay work.  It’s not hard to get inspiration for new pieces when I’m out walking.
