After raising a large family, I studied for a BA.Hons. at Brighton University before going on to teach English and Art at Aylesbury High School. After nine years of teaching full-time, I left in order to devote myself to my own practice of art continuing to teach English part-time and attending art-based modules at Oxford Polytechnic.

I have since attained formal qualifications, studying first at Buckinghamshire  University for BA Fine Art, then at Brookes University for an MA Contemporary Art. Having completed my Art education at the age of 72 years, I continue to create paintings and installations in the Autumn of my days.

Although, as with all artists, I am inspired by the amazing colours and shapes of Nature, as well as the intricacies of the human form, my work sometimes takes on a darker and more political stance, as I attempt to focus upon the frailties and injustices of modern existence.
