Daphne O Connell

Hi, my name is Daphne, and I am a completely self-taught textile artist based in West Oxfordshire. 
My work draws inspiration from the rich and diverse world of textile art, with a particular emphasis on hand embroidery and mixed media techniques.  I am influenced by artists whose work I greatly admire; Van Gogh, David Hockney, Picasso, Rembrandt and Cézanne, as well as other textile artists, such as Cecile Davidovici, Sol Kesseler and Cayce Zavaglia, to name but a few.  
Through stitch and mark-making, I love to experiment and explore different ways to express myself.
