Becca Rowland
Becca is a fused glass artist based in Oxford. Her style reflects a lifetime of working with data, her analytical approach and her love of structure, patterns and a straight line.
Her inspiration comes from patterns in the world around us. Aside from patterns found in nature she has also replicated patterns in maths and science such as Penrose tiling and gel DNA electrophoresis. She also loves contemporary textiles and these have formed the basis for some of her pieces. She frequently uses a strip-cut method to create works in glass, often using small voids into which hot glass can flow, or selecting glass colours that react with each other, to create organic elements within the glass.
