In 2011 Sue was awarded an MA (with Merit) in Multi-disciplinary Printmaking which she completed at UWE, Bristol. Her Degree Show was an installation of 20 Artists’ Books covering various aspects of the Thames from Source to Barrier.

Her work concerns landscape and journeys and for the last few years has been pre-dominantly about the Thames. She uses a variety of techniques and media, both high and low tech, and specialises in Book Binding, Artists’ Books, Digital Photography and Printmaking.

For printmaking she uses blind-embossing, paper lithography, and Photogravure techniques, making the printing plates from her own photographs; or collagraphs from found and discarded objects. She uses both laser-cut and hand-cut paper in her work, and also produces her own hand marbled papers.

Sue’s books are mainly single unique editions, and either hand-sewn and bound, or made from single sheets of cut and folded paper.
