West Ox Arts is situated in a lovely, spacious gallery on the first floor of the Grade II listed Town Hall in Bampton, a picturesque Cotswold village about five miles from Witney. Bampton has been used in the outside filming of Downton Abbey, with the Vesey Room being the hospital in Series 2. The gallery holds over twelve exhibitions a year; recent shows have been on still life painting, sculpture, glass, photography and felt.. The gallery has a shop that sells reasonably priced, handmade jewellery, ceramics, glassware and cards, and a coffee shop opposite the gallery sells refreshments. New stock is arriving all the time, so do call in regularly to see the latest additions. |
